Inghe & Christiaan - Blue Horizon Estate - 2 May 2015

Wow! What an amazing wedding! Inghe & Christiaan did not want to have a traditional South African wedding. "Why do I have to like everything that every body else likes?" They wanted to have a huge party with their close friends and family and that is exactly what they did.
We have not been to a wedding where the party actually started before the ceremony. People like to say that a wedding is a celebration. Inghe and Christiaan's wedding really was a celebration, from start to finish!

Their wedding was a reflection of their personalities unlike any we have ever seen!!

Inghe & Christiaan met while they were both working in New York. Christiaan decided to come back to South Africa with Inghe and popped the question at her favourite spot by the sea in Franskraal where they go on holiday.
How did you choose your dress and what did it look like? I wanted something traditional and very simple, but also unique.  Looked at many different dresses online and was interested in clean lines and a pleated skirt as a modern twist.  A few of my friends have used Teresa Joubert (Gelieft) and she has a gift for designing a dress that fits the bride’s body and personality.  She designed a beautiful dress for me in the end, bringing her lace and my pleats together.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?  I’m not very sentimental and apart from the dress, not traditional.  So everything was new.  Haha.
How did the wedding reflect your personality as a couple?   RELAXED, no “fieterjasies”, no unnecessary traditions just for the sake of tradition or because it’s expected, huge party.
Special touches: (DIY projects) Almost everything.  Flowers, gifts, “hangover kits”, décor, stationery.
Your favourite moment of the wedding: I can seriously not pick one moment.  It was one big party from beginning to end.  What I liked best was that the dancefloor was not empty for one second.
Any hints for other brides on how to keep your wedding budget friendly? Don’t plan a wedding – plan the biggest party you will ever throw yourself.  Don’t do anything just because other brides before you did it.  If you don’t want to carry a bouquet, don’t. It’s the little things that kill the budget, and often it will be something you don’t care about anyway.
